Filtered and Storytagger partner to take on data-driven learning

Filtered, pioneer of artificial intelligence in learning, and StoryTagger, the user-generated video learning tool, are joining forces to champion better usage of data in learning. The campaign will provide L&D and HR professionals with data insights from their peers to raise the bar industry-wide.

There’s no doubt that the learning and development industry is lagging behind in their ability to use data, the key differentiator in the modern workplace. According to research Filtered conducted with Towards Maturity, the majority of L&D departments say they ‘cannot use data effectively due to L&D lacking in-house data skills.’

That’s the driving force behind Filtered and StoryTagger’s campaign to bring the conversation on data-driven learning to the forefront. To do so, the two companies are drawing on the combined power of magpie’s learning recommendations and StoryTagger’s video capabilities to enable community collaboration on the issue.

Leading figures from the L&D community, including Laura Overton, David Perring and Bianca Baumann have already contributed to the campaign with StoryTagger videos on data that can be found in the upcoming re-launch of magpie for L&D.

L&D and HR professionals will also be able to submit their own videos on data-driven learning via StoryTagger for inclusion to foster digital collaborative learning and raise  the tide of data knowledge in the industry.

Cheryl Clemons, CEO of StoryTagger, says:

“Developing and applying data and analytics skills presents such a great opportunity for the learning industry. This important discipline doesn’t need to be a black box. There’s a growing body of expertise and working examples. We’re delighted to partner with Filtered to help surface and amplify these as peer-led video stories to support practitioners.”

“Learning and development is still undergoing its digital transformation and we need to fast-forward” says Sam Franklin, Marketing Manager at Filtered. “Many other industries have successfully harnessed the power of data, and we need to do the same to bring a consumer-grade experience to our people. I’m really excited about using StoryTagger’s social video to magpie for L&D to help change the way we think about data.”
